OK.. let's see how many of you recognise this one:
It's a pretty rare fruit not seen much, if at all, outside of the tropics..
An exceptionally strong smell, and a delightfully moreish taste..
These are the seeds:
Any guesses?

Cempedak? Never tried it but have heard about it. A cousin to Jackfruit.
Lychees?
Dear Mango and Kveta♥ It surely must be Jackfruit?...

Looks like cempedak to me, too.
Hi Mango!
I frequent your website often. I would like to ask you something. You know, I like to eat avocados, but the 80-10-10 people say it's too much if you eat more than half of one a day! And, I can eat three a day. I have a feeling that I only want the avocados because they make me feel restrained and then I "binge" on them, which is usually three to 4. I don't eat any greens. they taste like dirt. I live off OJ, mangoes, cherries, watermelon, and avocado for now. But, what is your take on the avocado and its fat?
Thanks
Kudos to Cedric.. you are correct.. the fruit is a Marang fruit.. it's the same family as jackfruit and chemapdek, so other guesses were close..
Marang has got a very powerful odour that is somewhat reminiscent of diesel.. I love the fruit, and hope to have some growing on wherever the piece of paradise is that awaits us.. (hopefully as impatient as we await it!)
peace,
mango - see wikipedia for more info on this fruit..
Anonymous,
apropos your question about avos.. I just posted a reply here:
avocados on a fruitarian-diet
peace,
mango
Yes Marang I was going to suggest.
I had a few in FNQ years ago. Nice but soft jackfruits are still better if i should compare...
