What we ate in April, and how much it cost.

I do this every month.. - Provide a chart of what Kveta and I ate the previous month, just o give a rough idea of what we might get through on average, so this is more or less what we ate in April 2008....

Fruit Quantity Cost
Apples 15kg $11.92
Avocados 100 $80
Bananas 13kg $13.45
Cherimoya 14kg $11.28
Cucumbers 5.5 kgs $16.24
Durian 50 kgs (including shells) $151.50
Grapefruits 6 $2.5
Grapes 30 kgs $52.00
Longans 2.5 kg $13.44
Mandarins 1.5 kg $3.35
Honeydew Melons 1 $2
Rock Melon 6 $10.49
Nectarines .5 Kg $1.75
Oranges 38kg $34.34
Pawpaw 2 $3.04
Pears 17 kg $16.36
Pineapple 3 $6
Tomatoes 9 kgs $16.96
WaterMelon 10kg $5.55

Totalling $376.22 Which means that we averaged $12.54 for 2 of us each day on food.. That's less than $7 each! (Australian dollars per day).

Proving once more that an all fruit fruitarian diet can be both economical as well healthy, practical, and environmentally agreeable.

Bare in mind that we generally eat an average of 5 or 6 different things each day, and that I fast on Fridays, it should give a very rough idea of what we might eat on a daily basis..

So we don't follow the traditional 3 meals a day plan.. rather we sort of graze throughout the day.
We don't really have a pattern. Just eat when we feel to.. and as a rule of thumb we are generally ready for food at about the same time.

To see more of what we eat on a more or less daily basis, then head over to Kveta's blog, where she tends to give rough summaries of what we both eat daily..

regards and hugs,
Mango.

Useful Website - 11 - Make Cheap International Phone Calls from the UK.

Are you after an inexpensive way to make international phone calls from the UK?

Of course, you can always go and buy a cheap phone card, or use a VoIP thing, like Skype, but one easy quick fix solution is to use the following website :

http://telediscount.co.uk/

They provide a list of lots and lots of different numbers you can ring before dialing your international number, thus in many cases, reducing the cost down to just 1 pence a minute.. (The list is also frequently updated with the cheapest numbers available at the time!)

Mango.

Crazy World News - 2 - Aliens in NSW?

Alien Presence in NSW?

There's been some spookey goings on in the Hunter Valley in NSW here in Australia..

Several Olive growers have gone out in the morning only to find that all their trees have been somehow miraculously entirely stripped of their fruit..

"There have been theories about bats and birds but we've ruled that out because there's no damage or no faeces … it's quite eerie.

"Whoever or whatever it was … depending on this year's yield, they could have gotten away with up to $40,000 worth."

One guy had 400 trees completely de-olived in the course of one night.. a job which would have normally taken them 3 hard days work to complete..

The weirdest thing is, it seems that all the olives were taken, every single one of them removed from all the trees, and the ground, with not a single one left hanging or lying around..

Wierd huh? Aliens?

Topsy-Turvy World - 9 - Do suncreams really prevent skin cancer?

I blogged recently about my thoughts on soaps and other cleaning detergents. Today I would like to focus on sun creams, and raise the question of whether or not sun creams really prevent skin cancer..

My personal view point is one of extreme skeptisisim.. Actually, perversely enough, I really believe that the reverse may even be true..

Think about this.. sun creams contain a whole host of chemicals that are far from natural.. In fact, some of the ingredients in sun creams have been demonstrated to be carcinogenic (actually promoting the development of cancer cells!!).

Actually, just reading the labels makes me feel queasy.. Isotridecyl salicylate, Octyl salicylate, Butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane.. Need I go on?

Sun on the other hand, is totally natural, and without it all creatures on this planet would die... It gives us a steady supply of Vitamin D, which is said to be crucial for the absorption of Calcium in the body, and well, providing we don't over do it, it just feels plain good!!

Think about this.. The skin is a major organ of elimination.. Meaning, that much of what we detox, comes out through the skin.. I believe the sun will help cleanse the skin of surface toxins, but by applying these oil and chemical based sun creams to our skin, we are in affect preventing the skin from detoxing, and in addition, actually absorbing new chemicals into the skin pores from the sun lotions..

Neither Kveta nor I use sun creams, and neither of us can stand the toxic smells of the beach going masses that spread it thickly onto their poor toxin overloaded bodies..

Supporting these thoughts:

Herbert Sheltons - Benefit of Sunlight

During the heat of the summer, after gradually letting more and more sunshine onto my body, I find I can be outside most of the day, and rarely do I get burnt.. Sometimes I find my nose is a bit of a weak point, and will keep that covered to prevent too much skin flaking off.. And should it happen that we get burnt, we just apply a little aloe vera fresh from it's leaf..

We also enjoy massaging fruit skins into the skin (especially papaya or mango!), and find that really helps the skin to not get burned too..

Sunshine is not your enemy!!

Interview with a Fruitarian - 14 - Life Samadhi

14th in a list of interviews with fruitarians.

Hi Life Samadhi,
Life SamadhiThanks for taking the time to answer some questions!

Could you please start off by telling us all a little about yourself, how old you are, where you are living/grew up?

I'm eternal as we are all, but my 36th anniversary of walking the Earth will be June 13, 2008. My Spirit is every where permeating throughout the Universe, although my body is located in Spring, Texas and grew up in Tupelo, Mississippi "The All American City where we let our hospitality show"...birth place of Elvis Presley!

Just to give us an idea of how it all used to be for you, could you tell us What kind of diet you grow up with? What did you use to eat on an average day?

Oh man! All types of stuff...I would eat anything and everything. From veggies to meat. Like my grandparents used to say about eating pork, I ate everything from "the rooter to the tooter." haa ha haaa.... I can't even tell you how much I ate on an average day, because I was pretty much constantly eating. I was a savage swine living to eat instead of eating to live...Thank God I don't have that mentality now!

Compare that to now, what does a typical days food intake look like for you now?

Well no day is typical for me. I live intuitive so I eat only when I have an absolutely earned hunger, so some days could be nothing at all. So it varies depending on how active I AM and what and if my body needs to rebuild cells, tissue, and bone.

For instant today I ate quite a bit. I had 4 medium sized fresh organic mangoes, drank about 4 ounces of coconut water, and later 2 date rolls (dates have a sweet taste so smashed and rolled into little "candy bars" make a great "snack"), but that's about all the processing of food I do besides some occasional fresh juicing.

So when did things start to change for you? Did you progress slowly to vegetarianism, veganism, raw food and fruitarianism, or was it more of a sudden change for you?? What sparked those changes?

When I was in naval boot camp I met some guys who were from an Islamic background. So learning about their culture and beliefs expanded my consciousness and the desire for pork dropped. Between traveling the globe while in the navy, living in different cities, and chatting with people all around the world on the internet, I've met people from many diverse backgrounds and experienced many cultures and spiritual practices.

The more I study and adopt spiritual practices from all the different cultures of the world, applying Bruce Lee's philosophy "Use only that which works, and take it from any place you can find it" my consciousness expands exponentially.

And the more Life consciousness I become the more cre8ive I become, and my diet NATURALLY evolves as a result. I went from omnivore to vegetarian to vegan to raw fruits and veggies to fruitarian. Basically I'm experiencing the process of cre8ive evolution.

So you have complete faith in the 100% fruit diet right? - What's your take on supplements - Stuff like vitamin pills, spirulina or similar? Are you at all concerned about not getting enough calcium/protein/B12/whatevers??

I don't have 100% faith in any diet, I don't believe in putting limits on the mind and spiritual growth. I only have 100% complete faith in Divine Law...The Way of The Universe...Cre8ive Evolution.

I do not need any supplements. I know that I AM Health because I AM One with The Heavenly Mother Father, God, Allah, Jah, The Dao, The Tao, The Mother of 10,000 Things, The Cre8or, Formless Substance, The Gr8 Spirit, The Universal Spirit, The One Mind, or what ever you feel comfortable calling The Source and collective whole of All Living Things.

This Gr8 Spirit, The One Mind, etc...is what you are made from...it is PURE LIFE!!! Feel me? Life must be Health and Life needs no supplements because nature is perfect and cannot be improved upon by man. What...you think the Heavenly Mother Father said, "Opps! I screwed up with Nature so I have to cre8 man so he can break down, process, and extract from nature what "he" thinks is good?" Nah...this type of thinking, that we need supplements, vitamins, etc...is backwards.

Humans thinks they need supplements and are lacking in nutrients because what they're eating they've processed it to death and poisoned it with chemicals like pesticides and growth hormones... killing all the NATURAL nutrients in it. I like my fruits whole (unless I'm juicing them), organic, and natural...just as Nature intended. Nature is my Pharmacy and The Heavenly Mother Father is my Health Consultant, and tells me exactly what I need to eat from Nature's Fridge that has all the nutrients I need intact in whole fruits. And I must also admit I still eat and occasional nut of two when my body asks for it, although this is becoming less and less the case.

So tell us how you feel eating this way?

Well, it's not the fruit that makes me feel the way I do, the fruit is just a more sustainable material to build your body with. It's the way I feel about Life and All Living Things that inspires me to eat fruit.

Eating fruit doesn't necessary make you feel better. Your attitude toward All Living Things, how you see yourself, and your relationship with The Heavenly Mother Father is what makes you feel INDESCRIBABLY MIRACULOUS!!! An open heart and expanded mind cre8s a expanded consciousness of Life...that's what inspires you to eat fresh, organic, whole fruits and better.

You can eat poor quality fruit that's contaminated with chemicals and pesticides and you will be poisoning yourself. You can be a glutton and eat fruit with a greedy animalistic mentality and you will still become obese. That's like building a house of "eco friendly" sustainable material on a hillside foundation of mud or unstable ground. When the rain comes down so will the house because the foundation will become weaker and not be able to support it...feel me?

Your body is the house for your spirit. Fresh organic whole fruits is a gr8 sustainable building material for your spirit's house. But if your foundation or quality of thinking is not rooted in Oneness with All Living Things and Selfless Love you will soon PERISH!!! And die a painful death of slow suffering.

ONENESS!!! SELFLESS LOVE!!! These are things you can have complete 100% faith in. This foundation will make you feel SUPERFUNTASTIC!!! As well as guide you on what you need to eat, when, and how much...guiding you through the process of Cre8ive Evolution NATURALLY and SAFELY. Do this and you are well on your way to being a HEALTH CONSCIOUS fruitarian and better.

Can you tell us a little about your health before and after your diet changes.. What about your weight, any major changes?

I used to weigh 230 plus pounds. I was over weight and at risk of dying from heart attack.

So I became Health Conscious...changing my attitude toward health, how I eat, and how much I eat. I learned the difference between appetite and hunger...a true earned hunger. Because like I said earlier and is worth repeating again...You can eat only fruit but with a gluttonous mentality you can over eat and still become obese...digging yourself and early grave with a spoon and fork.

Now I only eat when I have an EARNED HUNGER and I weigh around 150 pounds which is ideal for my height and frame size.

Do you know of many other fruitarians, online or offline?

None personally. I've read some blogs and websites by fruitarians and initiated communication but you're the only one who has responded and kept the lines of communication flowing. I appreciate that Mango. And honestly if I did know any, who's to say they really are? I mean who knows what goes on behind close doors. Someone could be throwing up fruitarian sites and blogs while scarfing down a bag of spicey pork rinds....ha haaaa...feel me?

But for real for real though, I do feel a shift in the collective consciousness of the world...this conversation and your blog is living proof of that. I feel what you're doing is encouraging more "fruitarians" to step forward with inspiring testaments and educate humanity on a more health conscious and prosperous way of life.

Thanks for that! - What do your parents think of you being fruitarian? What about the rest of your family, do you have brothers/sisters? A partner? Children?

My mom and sister are not fruitarians but they are inspired by and support me and my lifestyle. I see them gradually evolving and becoming more health conscious. I don't have any children...perhaps one day. I just met a beautiful young lady a few days ago on the Sunfood Nutrition Raw Personals website. She's on a spiritual path so we've connected on that level. I'm visiting her in Arizona and discover if there's a physical attraction and see what the Universe has in store for us....I'll document it on my blog as part of my global exploration.

So you have a blog? What's the address of it

Yeah. I have a blog I started using as a personal gratitude journal one night when I ran out of paper. To my surprise people are feeling it and have asked questions about my deep sense of gratitude and view of life. So this has inspired me to expand the blog into a blog that demonstrates how I expanded my consciousness to what some call...Universal Consciousness, Christ Consciousness, Buddha Consciousness, etc...

I'm inviting all subscribers to journey with me as I guide them on an adventure from their conception to Heaven on Earth, as well as documenting the continuation of my cre8ive evolution. I'm in the process of creating a new design, layout, and flagship content to accommodate the new direction. Subscribe for updates and to receive new blog post. Go to http://lifesamadhi.blogspot.com

Do you or have you suffered at all from cravings, or have you ever binge eaten? how do/did you deal with such times?

At my grandma's house I had to make a "happy plate" to get up from the table. This resulted in me relating eating ALL my food to being happy and pleasing my elders...I was an emotional eater. Then I was molested at age 6, began to shut people out, and started eating even more to comfort myself.

Kids would tease me about my weight and even some family members so I would eat even more to comfort myself but then I would stick my finger or a toothbrush down my throat and force myself to vomit, until I was able to just visualize it and make myself vomit. I did this so I wouldn't keep getting fatter.

I finally found serenity rapping and writing...it was my Love for rapping and writing that helped me find a place of comfort within myself. But I was also insecure about my clothes and acne so I held back my talents and ate even more. Later in life as an adult I discovered Yoga, Kum Nye (Tibetan Healing System) and meditation and integrated them with other various spiritual practices I learned in my travels and social life and tied it all into my writing and rapping to cre8 my own personal spiritual practice. This is how I over came the emotional eating and binge eating...developing my spirit and realizing my oneness with The Heavenly Mother Father.

What's the fruit quality and choice like where you live now?

The quality from my perspective is good, although I would love to grow my own or develop a personal relationship with someone who does. Because when it all comes down to it you don't know what type of energy a person is channeling and directing into the growth and harvesting process. The ideal situation is to be completely self sustainable and grow your own food with Love and an understanding of the Laws of Nature. Because we absorb the energy of the foods we eat and direct our energy into the foods we grow.

Have you done much travelling. - Do you have a favourite place,or somewhere that the fruit supply really impressed you?

I traveled around the world when I was in the navy, but my consciousness was not as expanded as it is now. So i don't know from experience about the fruits of those place. As far as a favorite place, I'm not into favor one place, thing, or person over another. I appreciate the beauty and respect the Life within All, just the same.

Do you normally tell people how you eat? If so, what do you think is the most common question(s) people ask you about your diet, and how do you answer it/them?

Not unless they ask, it comes up naturally in a conversation, is a related comment to a blog post, forum, or website, or someone is pressuring me to taste something they have cooked and it's not in accordance to the life style I live. I'll simply tell them, no thanx. If they insist then I explain why so they don't feel it's anything personal toward them or their food.

Do you perhaps have a favourite fruit?

Nah...I eat what my body ask for, although I do find pleasure in the taste of mangoes, tomatoes, and avocados. But nourishment is my motivation for eating not the pleasure of favorites. That leads to a gluttonous mind set.

Can you recall the first time you tried any particular fruit?

Nah...I don't recall. As far as I can remember I've always had fruits as part of my diet.

Where and how do you see yourself living 10 years from now?

More spiritually and physically evolved, more attuned to the Universe, and better than I do now!

What about your diet, do you envisage any further enhancements to that or do you feel happy with how it is now?

I feel happy now because my happiness comes from within me...Oneness with The Heavenly Mother Father is my source of happiness. So it's not about me being happy with the diet it just what I eat because this is where I AM in the process of cre8ive evolution. I actually see myself eventually evolving to breatharian to ether and on to Pure White Light and whatever comes after that.

How do you feel if people tell you that you must be crazy, and that you can't possibly survive eating the way you do?

It inspires me to be even more of a Living Inspiration for Everyone because I would like for everyone's consciousness to expand so they can advance in life. No one really wins until we ALL win because we are ALL ONE.

Finally, is there anything you'ld like to add as words of encouragement to those that are aspiring toward fruitarianism?

Life is Love and so are You because we are All One connected by the very breath we breathe...The Breath of Life!!!

Breath Easy...

Thanks Life,
hug,
Mango.

Useful Programs - 3 - Free alternative to MS Office

MS Office is very pricey these days.. Costing easily several 100 dollars for an above board, off the shelf copy, and far out of the price range that most of us are willing to pay..

But there is a legitimate alternative to the MS Office suite.. It's Called the Open Office Org, and has everything you're likely to need as far as office software is concerned.. It's got a Word equivalent, called Writer, and an excel equivalent spreadsheet thing, called Calc.. as well as data base stuff and image stuff and more.. And can create and edit PDF files..

Open Office is one of the many Internet available free applications created by a dedicated team of software engineers who believe that software should be free.. thus if you are geeky enough, you can even download the source code..

The latest reliable version is 2.4, and is available for download and use here:

http://download.openoffice.org/index.html

If you are feeling a little more adventurous, you could even download the version 3 beta version, which has no guarantee of being flawless, but nevertheless likely to be mostly stable for simple needs. Version 3 beta can be downloaded here:

http://download.openoffice.org/3.0beta

Peace to all,
Mango.

Topsy-Turvy World - 8 - Soap is clean.. Not!

I don't really care what any one says, soap is really just not clean.. It's highly processed and full of chemicals.

Water polluted with soaps and so called cleaning products, dirties and pollutes the earth..

Natural earth on the other hand is fun and cleansing.. A good mud bath can cool you down in the heat of the day, and really cleanse those pores.

I stopped using soap about 22 years ago, and began instead to use just water.. Shortly after that, I quit using shampoo too, and stopped also using detergents and other household cleaning products.. including washing powders..

The most difficult thing was the shampoo, I guess the hair becomes addicted to it, and when one first stops using it, it's like the head craves it or something.. But after just a few weeks, the head somehow adjusts to the lack of the presence of shampoo, and things normalise again..

I really believe that soap is detremental to the skin, aging it prematurely by robbing it of natual oils, and subjecting it to whatever chemicals are contained within the soap..

I know that most of you would probably argue and say that there are environmentally friendly soaps, or that at times, you might believe that the only way to get rid of something is with a soap or a heavy detergent of some kind..

But the reality is probably that so called environmentally friendly soaps are just not as polluting as the other more comercially available ones.. Sure the original raw ingredients may theoretically be relatively harmless, but is the harvesting of them? Or the process they undergo? And the proof of the pudding as they say, is to witness the effect of the soaped up water left overs on the garden.. Will the plants love it, or will they recoil in sufferance?

And as for those times when you're having difficulties with stains.. I say, think twice before bleaching it.. Leave the stain be.. Don't be ruled by fashion or by false senses of smartliness.. Every stain gives the clothing history..

Don't offend others with 2nd Hand chemicals

Hugs,
Mango

Happy Birthday Amelia!!

Today is the 3rd birthday of my niece and God-daughter, Amelia.

I haven't seen her since I left England in November 2006, and to be sure I miss her heaps.

It was a very tearful day, the day we parted, still is when I think of it, and I've no idea when I'll see her again.

I also miss my sister, and parents back there too..

But do I regret moving? No.. I still believe I made the right choice.. This is where I am mean to be.. following my destiny, and heading to the tropical fruit paradise fate I've dreamt of for so long.

May the future be bright for us all, and I'm sending blessings across the oceans to my darling niece.. - May the Fourth be with her!!

peace, Mango.

I blogged recently about some of the few fruitarian message boards and forums that exist on the internet:

Fruitarian Forums

This is just a newsflash update, to that post..

Rudolf has informed me that his european fruitarian forum is back up and running after several months of major server issues.

You can access the forum via this link:

Useful Website - 10 - Find the answer to a question.

The internet is great for doing just that.. Most things you can find an answer to, by just typing in your question into the google search engine, or by searching within wikipedia, but if what your after is more like advice, or something too technical, or something you just can't quite find with google or another search engine, then you could try asking your question on one of the many question and answer websites..

I know of 3 that you could try, there are probably more too, feel free to comment if you know of others..

These are the ones that I know of:

1. Answer Bag
2. Yahoo Answers
3. Fun Advice

Computer says no!
