You know how most of us when we were still kids, (and possibly later in life too!) used to dream of having super powers, like super strength, or the ability to fly, or become invisible, or walk through walls, or have x-ray vision etc etc etc. you know the kind of stuff I mean..
Well, me as a kid, I always dreamed of having the gift of tongues.. I liked the idea of being able to understand anything said to me, and to have the ability to answer back in kind..
Yeah, I'm certainly not denying it, I'm a dreamer for sure.. and although mastering all languages is a bit of a far fetched fantasy, I can only get by in 5 or so languages, I'm never-the-less a great believer in not setting limitations...
So in my quest for language learning, I often see what new and snazzy websites are out there that may aid in the process of mastering and improving them, and one particular website that I've been playing with for some months now, is called:
http://www.jollo.com/
Jollo is a new website idea to help translate sentences between languages. With it, you have the ability to type in the text you want translating, and have it instantly translated to the language of your choice by several different online machine translation websites, with the different results displayed under each other..
But wait! That's not all.. - there's more to be had..
Not only can you get and compare machine translation from various translating websites, you can also request for a human translation.. And free of charge too..
Basically the free human language translation is done by one of the many active Jollo members, and yet other members may vote on the accuracy of the translation...
It's neat stuff, and a great tool to help get a better understanding of some sentences which we might find otherwise puzzling..
Hope you can make use of it too..
Peace,
Mango.

Useful Website - 22 - Track your emails.
Well, wonder no more.. For now there's this neat little website that lets you send an email, and will track when and where it was opened.
It's free to sign up, and you can send a max of 5 emails a day through it.. (they get sent from your primary email address). Not only will it keep track of the emails you send, but it'll also send you an email notification each time an email is opened or an attachment is downloaded (telling you how many days, hours and minutes since you sent it!!) It'll also tell you the location of the recipient, based on their IP address at the time of opening the email.
I don't email much myself these days, but I like the idea of keeping track of the emails i do send, so if you would like to do the same, just signup and start emailing by clicking the banner below:

Useful Website - 18 - Watch TV online
At least the very very most of what's broadcast to the masses..
But for those of you that are remotely interested, and that have a fast enough internet connection to make the most of it, (we most definitely don't!!), then here are 3 services that supposedly let you view TV channels from around the world, for free..
1. Inner Live
2. Hulu
3. Surf The Channel
Watch something educational! Or go outside and plant a fruit tree..

Useful Website - 16 - New search engine
http://exalead.com/
Normally, I just use google, but I like the smoothness of this new one, and how it lets me easily narrow down my search into different categories..
It allows you to search in blogs, videos, Wikipedia, commercial, non-commercial, audio, RSS, etc, and appears to be one of the internets most customizable search engines
When one searches for something, e.g. durian, the options for expanding ones search are incredible. You can register an account with them as well to provide a personalized page for search wherever you are on the internet.

Useful Website - 15 - Send Emails in to the future..
Though admittedly, exactly why one might want to, is a little puzzling...
You can write an email, and have it sent at any time in the future..
I guess there is no guarantee that the services will be around in the long term, but certainly things they are working now..
The first website you can use for this is: http://www.futureme.org/
And the 2nd, which will require registration and log in:

Useful Website - 14 - Send and Receive Fax Online.
Send and Receive Faxes online for free..
I've discovered a few ways you can both send and receive faxes online for free, or at least at minimal cost..
I'll deal with receiving a fax first:
1. efax
You can sign up for a free Efax account here (signup is quick and easy!):
https://www.efax.com/en/intl/efax/signupFree?rqcp=2
Their free service will give you a number linked to your email address in one of 8 or 9 or so different countries that you can chose from.. Unfortunately, Australia is not on the list, but US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, and others are.. Remember to chose the "free" option.. As a paid member, you would get a more local number from whichever country you chose, and the possibility to also send faxes, but as a free member, your options are more limited, and you can only receive (not to worry though as I'll be covering sending faxes further down the page)..
I just signed up and have a fax number now that is UK based - 44-7006-060-329 (44 is the international dialing code for the United Kingdom)
If anyone wants to send me a fax to test the service, then please feel free. - If it works as promised, I should receive the fax directly to my email inbox.
2. k7
Alternatively, you can use another online service called k7.
It's basically a web-based unified messaging system that channels your free voicemail and fax messages directly to your e-mail.
The restriction is you just get a US Seattle based (toll free!) number to use for receiving the fax.. To signup click here:
http://fusion.kallback.com/k7/
I just did so too, and my Fax number there, should any kind soul wish to test it out for me, is: (US) 206-202-1192
Apparently if you don't use your account for over a month, they cancel it.. in which case you'll need to sign u again, and get a new number..
There is also an option for you to add personalized call greetings, and there are no restrictions on the number of faxes or voice mail messages one can receive..
So if your interested, simply complete the sign-up and you will be allocated a 10-digit Seattle phone number where people can send faxes or leave you voicemail messages. So as long as you’re fine with a Seattle area code, it’s a great free answering machine and fax-to-email service.
Now on to sending Faxes for free..
So far I've not been able to find a website service that is completely free and unrestricted in terms of where you can send your fax.
1. Faxzero
But the good news is that I have found a service that lets you send a fax for free anywhere in the US or Canada... You just add the details of both the sender and the receiver, attach the document and send! - This service also adds an extra page with an Ad to the transmitted fax document.) Using their free account, you can send a maximum of 2 faxes daily, with a maximum size each of 3 pages per document.. (the document can be a .DOC file, or a PDF file, or alternatively, you can just enter plain text in the form provided, and send that..
If that's what you want, here's the place to visit:
http://faxzero.com/2. PamFax
Now, so far, I haven't found another website like option 1, that lets me send faxes outside of the US or Canada, and would really like to see a similar service for Australia or the UK or any other country, so if you know of such a place, please let me know in the comments section..
However, all is not lost.. I have discovered a very nifty little add on to Skype, (for those unfamiliar with Skype, it is a VoIP protocol that lets you make and receive telephone calls via the internet, and is free to use between fellow Skype users, and only minimal cost to calls to non Skype members.. Skype can be downloaded here: http://www.skype.com/download/)
Anyhow, back to the Fax sending..
Once you have Skype installed and setup, you can download the PamFax add on here:
http://www.pamfax.biz/index.php
Just scroll down the page and press the Download button..
Many different file types are supported, and you can basically send faxes anywhere in the world at minimal cost debited from your Skype account.. (Skype can be funded using PayPal.. So you'll need a Paypal account first!)
Hugs,
Mango.

Useful Website - 13 - Sell your old Mobile Phone
Ever wondered where to sell your old cell phone for cash?
Well, I have several answers to that one.. There are several websites that deal specifically in purchasing old used cell phones for recycling.
Here's a list (in no partiular order!):
1. http://sellmyoldcellphone.com/
2. http://www.money4urmobile.com/consumer/index.asp
3. http://www.simplysellular.com/
4. http://www.mazumamobile.com/
5. http://www.envirofone.com/
6. http://www.mobilephonexchange.co.uk/Default.aspx
There are no doubt other websites that do the same thing, helping you turn your mobile into cash..
Some of the websites listed are better for the US, whereas others are better suited for selling used mobiles in the UK, or elsewhere, so best is to check them all and find which one offers you the best deal..
Not all mobile models are listed on all the sites, so you may need to search around some..
If you are unable to find a site willing to buy your old phone, chances are it no longer has a marketable value, in which case you may wish to consider recycling it.. See the following web page:
http://www.cellforcash.com/main/recycle.asp
or from within Australia, see:
http://www.mobilemuster.com.au/default.asp?Page=1335
(see the right hand side of the age, and enter your post code..)
regards,
Mango the Fruitarian.

Useful Website - 12 - Alternative to Ebay
Are you looking for a way to sell whatever it is you are selling online, but finding the ebay fees to be too much??
Well, there is a recent addition to the online auction/selling websites available to use now..
It's called WigiX, and you can reach it here:
It's a true Ebay competitor, and with it you can gain access to affordable items without having to deal with unwanted fees or long bidding processes as is the case with ebay..
Wigix stands for WantItGotItExchange, and is a very recent promising alternative auction website, to Ebay..
Taken from their website, their policy looks promising and more appealing than EBays:

Mango.
PS If you are Australia based, you might also want to check out an australian ebay equivelant: ESWAP.COM.AU

Useful Website - 11 - Make Cheap International Phone Calls from the UK.
Are you after an inexpensive way to make international phone calls from the UK?
Of course, you can always go and buy a cheap phone card, or use a VoIP thing, like Skype, but one easy quick fix solution is to use the following website :
http://telediscount.co.uk/
They provide a list of lots and lots of different numbers you can ring before dialing your international number, thus in many cases, reducing the cost down to just 1 pence a minute.. (The list is also frequently updated with the cheapest numbers available at the time!)

Mango.

Useful Website - 10 - Find the answer to a question.
The internet is great for doing just that.. Most things you can find an answer to, by just typing in your question into the google search engine, or by searching within wikipedia, but if what your after is more like advice, or something too technical, or something you just can't quite find with google or another search engine, then you could try asking your question on one of the many question and answer websites..
I know of 3 that you could try, there are probably more too, feel free to comment if you know of others..
These are the ones that I know of:
1. Answer Bag
2. Yahoo Answers
3. Fun Advice

Useful Website - 9 - 5gb of Free storage
Hi all..
Here's a handy website for yous all..
Especially, I think, if you're travelling and your digital camera memory gets full, and you're debating buying more memory, or burning to a CD..
Consider instead, uploading all your photos to a secure 5 gigabytes of free storage on the internet..
I know I certainly will be using it next time I'm out and about..
You can just go to any internet cafe, plug in your camera, and upload your photos to the 5gb free space, than when you get home, just log in there, and download your photos to your PC..
Anyhow here's the website:

Useful websites - 6 - RedBubble.com
Kveta has already blogged about this once, but I thought I'd make mention of it here too..
redbubble is this neat website that lets you upload your artwork, photography, poetry, etc and make it available for others to buy.
Its really simple, costs nothing to join or use, and very easy to navigate..
So if you've got any good work you'ld like to make commercially available, then get creative and give redbubble a go:

Useful Website - 5 - Find out the location of any telephone
This one quite handy..
If you have a telephone number of anyone, based anywhere in the world, you can feed it in to this website:
http://www.tp2location.com/index.php
And it'll tell you the geographical location of the telephone..
Not sure if it works with mobile phones..?
Anyhow, you may find it useful at times..

Useful Webiste - 4 - Guide to Web Hosting.
Apart from my usual all things fruitarian related posts, I try to keep my eyes open for other potentially interesting places on the internet, and just stumbled upon Kaushal Sheths Blog..
I've previously been asked 2 or 3 times about where best to host ones website, and Kaushal answer that in his post:
A guide to - Web Hosting
Also, he offers help to those wanting to customise their blog templates (he claims his rates are nominal), and provides a number of different blog templates for both users of wordpress and some for blogger/blogspot.
Admittedly, he blogs about a lot of stuff which is of really no interest to me at all, and most of his focus is on wordpress themes, and tips and tricks for using and tweaking wordpress, which is not really relevant to me as I'm content with blogspot..
Hope you get some use out of it,
hugs,
Mango.

Useful Website - 3 - Smorty.com
Smorty.com is this great service I've just discovered that allows you to blog for money..
Here's what they say about themselves:
“Smorty is a service connecting advertisers with bloggers. Advertisers can pay bloggers to write opinion posts with links back to the advertisers site."It's 100% free to join, but there are some criteria for joining in.. For starters, you need to be ranked by google, and you need for your blog to be active (at least 2 posts er week).
Basically it works through advertisers paying bloggers to write posts on their opinion of their products, and linking back to them.
In a nut shell, you can get paid for blog advertising with links back to the advertisers site.
Payment is made weekly, directly to your paypal account, so you will have to set up an account with them first, but that's quick and easy, and instructions are provided at Smorty.com..
Just log in every day, and check what advertisers are available, and blog about the ones you feel to.
I can't think of a simpler way to blog for money..
Hugs,
Mango.
